Join PAAT for a practical, process-oriented discussion focused on helping the lobbying and government affairs community prepare now for the bill filing process ahead of the 90th Legislative Session. With bill filing beginning in November, this event will provide the inside scoop on best practices for navigating the process, avoiding common missteps, and working more effectively with legislative offices and the Texas Legislative Council.
The program will also include a discussion of the Texas Legislative Council's policies and legal ethics obligations and how those requirements shape interactions with legislators, legislative staff, and legislative professionals outside the Capitol.
Representatives from TLC will cover:
- What TLC needs from stakeholders and legislative offices to draft effectively
- Best practices for submitting draft requests
- Common pitfalls or avoidable delays
- How outside advocates can be most helpful in the process
- General guidance on navigating drafting timelines during the interim and session
