The Texas Ethics Commission is under Sunset Review this year. Join us to discuss potential issues our profession may want to address during the review process.

PAAT will be involved in the TEC Sunset Review in various ways, including submitting recommendations for improvements to the ethics laws and processes and monitoring the review process. This event will be a great place to engage if you are interested in submitting recommendations or participating in PAAT's TEC Sunset Review discussions.

Of note is that the last Sunset Review of the Texas Ethics Commission in 2012-2013 resulted in the passage of Senate Bill 219 (83R). However, the governor vetoed the bill.

The formal review process will begin in May, and we have invited the Sunset Commission to join us next month to discuss best practices and how we can best navigate the experience. Stay tuned.
